Drivers Die In Head-on Crash

TWO men were killed in a head-on collision at Pyree, south of Nowra, on Saturday.

The accident occurred at 5.20pm as a sedan and a station wagon towing a trailer travelled in opposite directions on Greenwell Point Rd.

Emergency services personnel were unable to revive the 50-year-old driver of the station wagon, which had left the road and hit a tree. The 71-year-old driver of the sedan also died at the scene.

The roadway was closed for several hours.

Officers from the Southern Region Crash Investigation Unit were continuing investigations into the cause of the crash.
